Saturn Retrograding

Man is asked to make of himself what he is supposed to become to fulfill his destiny

Paul Tillich

Saturn is the planet that gives the knowledge that our soul needs in order to reach its biggest development in this lifetime. It is through our learning that we will develop our spiritual growth. Our goal is to connect this growth with our physical and material life, and also how we will crystallize in our souls those challenges suggested by Saturn.

When Saturn is retrograde, our soul also follows an internal process of reflection and it goes back to our roots and initial intentions. Our battle during this process is to make our goals compatible with its objectives, and with our spiritual integrity. This means trying to be more faithful to our intentions, whose search is always directed on learning from our inner self. Understanding how I can satisfy my physical process, and my professional, cultural and material growth without losing the original goal proposed by my soul, even before I was born.

During the retrograde phase, the universe offers us a chance to review those principles and change the meanings that were lost or sleep during the journey. Saturn starts to retrograde in the sign of Gemini on October 11. Our reflection will be: “ How do I say the words that I am thinking, in the way that my truth be kept and protected?” This means, how to “speak” what I want to “say”. Is it possible that by trying to be polite, cordial, accepted and approved by all, I am hiding my truth?

During this period we will be worried with what everyone is thinking, we will base those worries on our values and beliefs. We’ll see our fears, limits and obligations in accordance with the principles that guided us in the past. Is it possible that we are idled in obsolete ways that are not matching with our matured personality?

Our battle will be successful when we are sure of our truth, and know that the doubts or opinion of others can not influence us. But doubt will be necessary, so we can learn how to make a choice, the choice is a free judgment, and the free judgment is the art of doing what we should do.

Our reflection will include questions such as: “what is necessary to be let go because it does not work anymore?” When Saturn retrograde, it is necessary to empty the excess of information and opinions that we are storing and crystallizing during the years, seeking again the nucleus of our simplicity and the purity of our truth.

The process develops in the following form: in the first phase we confront ourselves with our excessive amount of information, we collect our fears and feelings of confinement, then, we enter in a stage of total confusion, and consequently lose our objectives.

With hopeless feelings, without orientation and at the end of the processes, we eliminate what is no longer valuable, we experience a new process of crystallization and proceed forward again when Saturn returns to its normal course on February 23, 2003.

EDGAR CAYSE, A SPIRITUALIST AND ASTROLOGER, HAS THE FOLLOWING QUOTE THAT EXPLAINS WELL WHAT IS THE LEARNING PROCESS. “WE ARE EACH A GOD IN THE MAKING, AND THE BIRTH CHART SHOWS WHICH DEGREE OF CONSTRUCTION WE ARE ASSIGNED IN THIS LIFE”.

I would say that Saturn, one of the wisest planet, can help in the construction of our God because it could be a reference point in our birth map. It can show what type of foundation and structure a person needs to initiate their respective construction. To add to the quote by Edgar Cayse I would like to mention the thoughts of one of the most advanced souls that passed through our world, whose life was devoted to healing and comforting everyone around him, the spiritualist and Yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda: “Mankind is engaged in an eternal quest for that "something else" he hopes will bring him happiness, complete and unending. For those individual souls who have sought and found God, the search is over: He is that Something Else”.
